Georges Schmitt or the rebirth of the God Pan

Born in Algiers originating from a family of Alsatian musicians, Georges Schmitt, a multi-talented artist is described by his peers as "a travelling acrobat of genius who cannot be categorized in the world of entertainment."

Like an authentic craftsman he manufactures his panpipes in a traditional way, tuning them with bee-wax. But he can also modernize his instrument by replacing the wax with a patented system of valve adjustment.

Thanks to his simple but revolutionary process, Georges Schmitt became the first inventor of tunable panpipes, which enabled him to extend his repertoire to classical and sacred music.

He is also a wonderful imitator of bird singing. This talent comes form his liking for ornithology dating back to his infancy. Similarly he can imitate the  sound of the panpipes with his hands, which never fails to surprise the audience during a concert.

Georges Schmitt never stops amazing us

Endowed with a highly developed sense of balance he has become the only flutist in the world capable to play his instrument walking on his hands!
He has made of this feat an exceptional act of cabaret.

From his observation of children, he invented a resonant puzzle. In this way, this educational and play game has become not only a wonderful tool for teaching and learning sounds and music but also an advertising medium particularly well adapted to the launching of a new product.

Georges Schmitt also likes to share his passion for music and then shows his great as a teacher among pupils. He was given a permit by the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Culture and thus can regularly helps children during days dedicated to "the discovery and early learning of music".

But this multifaceted man is above all known and famous for his talents as a musician and a composer. Georges Schmitt is also well-known abroad where he regularly gives public performances.

His successes are so numerous and varied that it is very difficult to count them. Besides, his world tours, his concerts with great musical groups such as "the choir of the French Army", "the orchestra of radio France", he has composed music for the advertisements of famous great brands, music for the cinema and television, He has also been the guest of several television programmes.

As for the production of his discs it is so impressive that it can arouse envy among the people of the show business.

Since the beginning of his career, Georges Schmitt has produced 15 albums and has received 9 gold records.

During a concert he appears either alone with his recorded band or accompanied by a harpist and/or by an organist or with a musical group.
